About the Role – Key Responsibilities

As LoopLearns first dedicated Front End Engineer you are responsible for ensuring continuous innovation and development of LoopLearn products, from inception to deployment and production support. You will be an integral member of the Engineering team, while working closely with the Product team to understand customer needs and real-world problems to build and deliver practical solutions that have an immediate positive impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead projects to solve real user problems, including talking to our customers about their needs, designing solutions, writing the code, delivering it to production, and maintaining it.
  • Design and implement great user interfaces.
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Assist in identifying product and process weaknesses and possible refinements in an environment of continual evolution and improvement.
  • Analyse system and production defects, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Work closely with the wider Engineering team to determine the best solutions to difficult problems.
  • Champion & assist with implementation of continuous integration and delivery frameworks.
  • Develop high quality automation tests to improve test coverage, product quality and time to market
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
  • Assume responsibility – take personal ownership of work and be able to work autonomously
About You – Skills & Experience

 You’ll love this role if you have:

  • Experience with modern web-application development, frameworks and practices to build and run SaaS or cloud services at scale.
  • 5+ years experience designing, building and testing complex front end products, with components including; HTML5 / Javascript / jQuery
  • Have a decent notion of Python 3 to integrate Front End elements with it. Experience with Kivy Python will be highly valued. If you don’t know it, you will be asked to learn it.
  • Experience with front end edge infrastructure (e.g. AWS Cloudfront, API Gateway and Lambda) and service-oriented/microservice architectures
  • Understanding of caching, server-side rendering, CDNs
  • Experience with key/value store and relational databases (e.g. DynamoDB, Postgres, MySQL)
  • Intimate knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device development.
  • Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components, including appropriate testing.
  • An in-depth understanding of CI/CD and experience with software build tools and continuous integration tools, including automation testing
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills; ability to work with minimum guidance.
  • Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills
